VOLUNTARY GUIDELINES

THANKSGIVING CELEBRATION GUIDELINES

  1. This is for people that want to celebrate Thanksgiving or have Thanksgiving decorations and events throughout the whole month of November.
  2. Decorations should resemble either colonial or native American culture.
  3. We would take in any suggestions from citizens and we will add them to the guidelines for people to do for their November events in case they don't know what to do in November.
  4. For people that celebrate by wearing costumes, there are plenty of colonial and native American outfits or costumes that you can purchase or make your own. For people that feel uncomfortable dressing as a Native American because you don't want to offend a tribe by wearing clothes that they wear? That's perfectly fine, if anyone has knowledge of what they wear or celebrate with we will put it in the guidelines for people to choose from.
  5. When it comes to dancing, there are so many dance methods you can adopt and try out and you would not offend anyone. There are native American pow-wows of all kinds, ritual dances, and colonist dances. Singing can come with it too, we can all look up 17th and 18th-century music both colonial and native American that we can all voluntarily adopt and use to celebrate our month of November.
  6. Prime Minister Austin Elsler has provided songs and pieces of music for the month of November and the Thanksgiving holiday, click this link here: "Thanksgiving in Nyx".
